Community Information

Crescent City — and all of Del Norte County — is a place for spirited independence where we encourage entertaining yourself and getting lost in wonder as part of the journey. There’s a feeling in our salt air. It’s a feeling hard to describe. But when you arrive, you’ll feel it. And you might hear it. It’s calm. It’s quiet. And it’s as if someone or something is whispering “stay”.

Where the Redwoods meet the Sea, Crescent City in beautiful Del Norte County, is only 20 miles south of Oregon.  Sea-faring Crescent City is home to the northernmost of California’s lighthouse stations. Additional attractions include Ocean World aquarium and the Northcoast Marine Mammal Center. On the town’s west end is oceanfront Pebble Beach Drive with easy access to Pebble Beach, a great place to search for agates and other semi-precious gemstones.

A raw, unsung California spirit ripples throughout Del Norte County and our communities: Crescent City, Klamath, Smith River, Gasquet, Hiouchi and Fort Dick.  There are few beaten paths in Del Norte County and Crescent City. Breath in the ocean air along the Yurok Loop Trail. Amble along the Smith River as the redwoods tower above and emerald waters rush beside you. Enjoy wandering the Crescent City waterfront.  Start exploring.
